String of Miracles (Harlequin Superromance, No 524)
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Harlequin (01 November, 1992)
Author: Sally Garrett
Average review score:

Hardly Enough Words...
It isn't often that one comes across a truly fabulous read within a "series" romance. Usually they are too short, underdeveloped or lack any real "substance". In "String of Miracles" we receive all of the above and more

Mark Bradford is a high powered attorney who is on the fast track to success, helping Nancy Prentiss doesn't seem to take a lot out of him. She's sweet, young and has a lot of potential to make it in law. What Mark doesn't know is that Nancy has had a "crush" on him for awhile, only Mark sees her as a nieve, young law student.

When Mark suffers a serious heart attack he has to make a lot of life altering decisions, most of which he doesn't like. Changing is difficult but what is more difficult is becoming re-acquainted with Nancy Prentiss the girl he helped so many years ago. Not only is Nancy a lovely, grown woman, she also posesses what Mark has had to give up, a career as a fast track attorney who is rising to the top.

What comes next is hardship, betrayal, resolutios and ultimately love. This is not a book you want to miss, follow Nancy and Mark through an unbelievable journey. In a time where contemporary romance sometimes seems stale and not as exciting as it's counterparts "string of miracles" will take you on a trip through the human heart.

Talking With the Clay: The Art of Pueblo Pottery
Published in Paperback by School of American Research Press (June, 1988)
Authors: Stephen Trimble and Tom Ireland
Average review score:

A Great Book!
This book was recommended to me by the owner of a well known Native American Arts gallery as possibly THE best book on the subject, and it completely lives up to the recommendation. Based on a series of interviews with prominent potters from each pueblo, it not only gives an overview of the history of the different potteries, it is filled with personal thoughts and views of the various artists about their work--not only the processes of creating pottery, but their feelings about how they as modern potters fit into the "history" as well. If you are at all interested in Southwest Pueblo Pottery, you MUST read this book. It's not a "picture book" like so many others, though it does have many great photos, but it's not a scholarly text book either. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and I cannot thank my gallery owner friend enough for recommending it to me.

Eternal Desert
Published in Hardcover by Arizona Highways (September, 1990)
Authors: Robert C. Dyer, David Muench, and Bob Dyer
Average review score:

Beautiful photography, vibrant colors
This is a fabulous coffee table book makes a great gift for any nature lover. David Muench does a wonderful job of capturing the desert & bringing home for you to enjoy. It is in stunning full-color on glossy stock.

Photographs encompass landscapes of endless sands & rocks of many different hues. Impressive natural sandstone sculptures are also displayed. You even get a glimpse of the petroglyphs & ruins of ancient peoples.

I fell in love with a spectacular waterfall flowing into most gorgeous turquoise waters I have ever seen. Meadows of golden prickly pear cactus flowers & fields of brilliant orange poppies took my breath away.

The text includes many fascinating facts about America's deserts. There is also a great map of the region. Captions including quotations from Van Dyke's "The Desert" fit the photography perfectly.

It is easily a virtual tour of the Grand Canyon state.

Triple Jeopardy: A Story of Law at Its Best-And Worst
Published in Hardcover by Little Brown & Company (July, 1996)
Author: Roger Parloff
Average review score:

Absolutely Brilliant ! Should Be Required Reading !
Roger Parloff's "Triple Jeopardy" should be required reading for any American interested in our system of justice. It should be included in the curriculum of all law schools. And any trial attorney who isn't familiar with this case is at a great disadvantage. By far, one of the best books on modern American criminal justice. And anyone who is still convinced, after reading the Knapp case, that the death penalty is justified, should just read this book once more ! Beautifully written. Brilliantly analyzed . A real treasure. Take a chance and read it. You will not regret it.

Image of America: Tucson Arizona
I am trying very hard to get your attention and this is the only way I know to do it. Images of America: Tucson Arizona is a great book. I know because I wrote it. I do not have such an ego that I want to review my book. However, when I type in my name as the Author --"Jane Eppinga" it says that the Tucson book is not yet published. IT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. Could someone update this information? Sincerely Jane Eppinga

Powerful observations of disappearing roadside motels
"Gumbiner and Hayden's photographs capture on film rapidly disappearing architectural treasures and capture in wonderful detail artistic elements from the past. The photographers skillfully blend documentation with powerful observations of the current social milieu of these roadside remnants. Recommended reading and viewing for anyone who ever slowed down at the sight of a neon sign!"---Teri Cleeland, Historian Arizona Historic Sites Review Committee
